Earth and space

Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar

He worked out the star limit in the 1930s.

Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar used math to study small faint stars called white dwarfs.

He found a weight limit. Past that limit, the star cannot hold itself up in the same way.

Later tests agreed with his theory.
